Inspired by Nature & Lakeside Living

Maker Of One-Of-A-Kind & Reclaimed Pieces

 - My Inspiration -

Growing up in a small town just minutes outside of Waterloo, Ontario, I was raised with an appreciation and respect for the nature surrounding me. After renting cottages in Northern Ontario while raising our three kids, my husband and I purchased a cottage on Lake Manitouwabing.
After spending many years expressing my creativity through my professional career as a hairstylist, my passion for home decor expanded to something more than just a hobby.
Having always had a passion for interior design, I spent the next few years staging store fronts and doing seasonal decorating. After selling our cottage, I found myself looking to incorporate cottage inspired decor into our modern home. The start of White Birch Designs was influenced by my desire to put a modern rustic twist on cottage and home decor. As we became empty nesters, our love for Georgian Bay and the outdoors, and our appreciation for the unique qualities of small town living gave my husband and I the push we needed to make the move to Northern Ontario.
In the fall of 2017, we purchased a home on Otter Lake, just south of Parry Sound. The change of pace, and relaxing environment has given me the chance to enjoy my love of being creative while working alongside our lakefront.
Our one-of-a-kind cottage inspired pieces will remind you of being at the cottage all year round! To this day, I continue to find inspiration through nature all the time! Our beautiful Maple Charcuterie boards, lemon & lime boards, pizza boards, reclaimed vintage paddles and oars, our hand-painted and designed canoes and so much more, you're bound to find a piece, or pieces that will make a perfect addition to your space!  - About Our Location -

So the big question is…how did White Birch Designs and I end up in Rosseau?! After becoming empty nesters and making the move up North, I wanted to find a way to sell my products and designs…so my husband suggested I look in Rosseau for a space to rent!
Someone suggested that I speak to the owner of the Antique store to see if he would rent an area to me. The owner of the store had the lovely idea for me to put up a tent on his lawn for Friday market days..so I did it! From September-Thanksgiving, I rented a store front as a “pop up”, which I loved! This specific spot was rented for the following season, so the hunt for a store began! Buffi (the owner of the house my store is currently in) walked into my pop up one day and we began chatting, and the possibility of renting Buffi’s space became a topic of conversation. After many emails I finally decided to go for it…why not right?! You never know till you try!
White Birch Designs had a very successful 2021 season, and I am very excited to see everyone back in Rosseau this summer!
Looking forward to sharing beautiful, new, nature and lakeside living inspired pieces...stay tuned!
